Anchorage Chiropractors

Dr. John A. Pairmore, DC, BCAO

When people ask me why I became a chiropractor I tell them, "Gonstead Chiropractic saved my life!"

I had injured my lower back at work and my days and nights were filled with non-stop pain. I was unable to work and the pain seemed to become even worse. I was scared about my future and worried that I might become disabled from back pain like my uncle was. I was under chiropractic care but I wasn't getting any better after months of care. I was then introduced to a Gonstead Chiropractor. Those procedures saved my life and made all the difference. I knew there were thousands of people who needed the rock solid, tried and true procedures that helped me so, I began the process of becoming a chiropractor; not just any chiropractor, but specifically a Gonstead trained chiropractor. I did just that.

Dr. Dennis D. Young, DC, BCAO

I was in practice for about 10 years and had a large busy, practice when a slip and fall while hunting almost ended my career. It really wasn't that big of a fall but I hit my head and it hurt my upper neck. Within 6 weeks of that fall, I had high blood pressure, a non-stop severe headache, dizziness, constant neck and mid back pain, and to top it off, lower back pain with a pain in my left knee that felt like an ice pick. Fortunately, a friend of mine from college spotted me across the room at an event, came up to me and said, "your atlas is out". I told him that I was being treated by some great chiropractors but that I was getting steadily worse. He introduced me to another doctor, and in a few days I drove the 3 hours to see this specialist, and he basically gave me my life back.

I remember that as I left his office after he adjusted my atlas, the adjustment had removed 80% of what I had walked in there with. For the first time in 6 months, I had no headache, no neck ache, my knee pain was gone, and that horrible knot I had in my mid back was absent. At that point I realized I had to learn this procedure; the Atlas Orthogonal Protocol of upper cervical chiropractic care. I did just that. I am now Board Certified in the Atlas Orthogonal procedure. Throughout the last 20 years, I have seen literally thousands of people regain their health with this method when nothing else would help. I assure you, everything has not been done until your atlas has been set properly. I look forward to seeing you soon.

Dr. Connie Jerz, DC

I graduated from the University of Arizona in 2005, as a Division I, All American pole vaulter. Early in my collegiate pole-vaulting career, I started having a nagging pain in my foot for no apparent reason. The pain became so bad that I was unable to run. My coach suggested that I go to a chiropractor, and after my first treatment—and much to my surprise– I had immediate relief! I was then able to continue training, which enabled me to compete in my final pole vaulting event in the NCAA, Division I track and field championships, where I placed second. I knew that I could not have done so without chiropractic assistance, and I was so impressed with the experience that I decided to go to Parker University to become a chiropractor myself. Consequently, I graduated from Parker in 2009, and came to Alaska to work both as an associate, and then independently, before I took some time off from my chiropractic work to have children.

While continuing to carry on the Gonstead and Atlas Orthogonal techniques of Pairmore & Young, I have a special interest in adding maternity and sports chiropractic to the mix, after having experienced numerous benefits personally. I plan to expand my chiropractic knowledge and techniques, while assisting people with their own pain relief and improving their quality of life.

Dr. Rizaldy Ortiz, DC

Dr. Rizaldy Ortiz completed his undergraduate studies at California State Polytechnic University before receiving his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Southern California University of Health Sciences.

Dr. Ortiz believes in a whole body approach to health, employing a comprehensive evaluation and treatment protocol to address each patient's individual needs. Armed with the latest research and a deep understanding of the body, Dr. Ortiz utilizes muscle balancing through posture analysis, chiropractic adjustment, Graston Technique, and nutrition counseling to not only treat the pain, but to uncover the underlying cause of the problem. After all, true health can only be achieved when the root of the problem has been identified and removed.

Aside from science, his passion for helping others remains his top priority. Combining his education in science and his experience in reaching out to the community, he chose chiropractic as the best way to express both. While attending chiropractic school he was involved on a mission trips to Mexico, Dominican Republic and Haiti.

Dr. Ortiz believes you never stop learning and spends much of his free time reading the latest research and news regarding health and wellness. When he is not working, he enjoys fishing, hiking, cycling and spending time with his wife and family.
