Dr. John Pairmore, co-owner of Pairmore & Young: Synergy Chiropractic, brings a wealth of experience and a passion for healing to his practice. Anchorage has been home since his family relocated to Elmendorf AFB when he was 10. His journey into chiropractic care began after a whiplash injury, followed by a severe back injury at work, both of which were healed through chiropractic treatment. Graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2002, John knew he’d found his calling.
His dedication to the field was cemented during his education at Palmer College, where he immersed himself in the science, philosophy, and art of chiropractic. His transformative experience during the Clinic Abroad Program in Bolivia, providing care and witnessing incredible recoveries, solidified his belief in the body’s ability to heal through proper alignment.
John’s professional interests include specializing in the Gonstead Technique, Cox Flexion Distraction technique, and being board certified in Atlas Orthogonal. His commitment to the field is further demonstrated through his decade-long tenure on the executive board of the AK Chiropractic Society, where he served as treasurer.
Beyond his practice, John finds joy in family life with his wife Sengthiene and their three children.

Dr. Dennis Young, a cornerstone of Pairmore & Young: Synergy Chiropractic since its inception in 2013, brings a legacy of chiropractic care that spans generations. Hailing from Georgia and raised in Florence, South Carolina, Dennis was born into a family of chiropractic doctors, igniting his passion for healing from an early age. Witnessing the transformative impact of chiropractic care through his parents’ practice, he pursued the path of caregiving, graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1980.
For three decades, Dennis served the upstate of South Carolina before an Alaskan visit in 2012 beckoned him to a new chapter. Anchorage became home in 2013 when he co-founded Pairmore & Young: Synergy Chiropractic with Dr. John Pairmore. Embracing the spirit of Alaska, Dennis found joy in aiding the hardworking and resilient community, enabling them to thrive even through injuries and setbacks.
His journey into chiropractic care was a natural evolution, deeply rooted in a family tradition of caregivers. The inherent satisfaction of restoring health to fellow human beings fueled his lifelong dedication to the profession. Dennis found profound fulfillment in witnessing patients’ life-altering improvements, from regaining hearing to triumphing over neurological conditions and even facilitating remarkable recoveries in animals.
A pivotal moment in his career occurred after encountering an Atlas Orthogonal Doctor, Dr. Laney, whose treatment revolutionized Dennis’s approach to care. This transformative experience motivated him to delve deeper, eventually becoming board certified and leading one of the largest upper cervical practices in the Southeastern United States. Teaching and training aspiring chiropractors in this specialized technique became a driving force, ensuring the continuation of his impactful work.
Beyond his practice, Dennis embraces life in Alaska, indulging in outdoor pursuits like hunting, fishing, hiking, and community-oriented activities. His commitment extends to family, faith, and fostering a more compassionate and prosperous world for future generations. Engaging with diverse communities to foster unity and progress remains a cherished pursuit outside his chiropractic endeavors.
Dr. Jacob Boll is a seasoned Chiropractor who embarked on his journey in the chiropractic industry in July 2016. Hailing from a small farming community in Iowa, Dr. Boll’s educational pursuits led him to the University of Northern Iowa, where he excelled in football. Subsequently, he found his way to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, where his passion for chiropractic care took root.
Dr. Boll’s interest in chiropractic was sparked during his college days when he faced a low back injury. Initially contemplating surgery as his only option, a fortuitous encounter with a team chiropractor changed the course of his recovery. The experience left a lasting impact, and Dr. Boll realized the transformative potential of chiropractic care in alleviating pain without resorting to drugs or invasive procedures.
The defining moment in Dr. Boll’s career came when one of his early patients in the student clinic expressed overwhelming gratitude. Having suffered from chronic neck and lower back pain for over a decade, the patient tearfully shared that, thanks to Dr. Boll’s intervention, he experienced relief for the first time in years. This powerful encounter solidified Dr. Boll’s conviction that he had found the right profession—one where he could make a profound difference in people’s lives.
As a chiropractor, Dr. Boll’s professional interests center around upper cervical/upper neck chiropractic. His practice employs the AO upper cervical technique, complemented by a range of other methods such as Gonstead, Diversified, Thompson, Webster, Activator, and the Cox Flexion Distraction technique for spinal decompression. Driven by a commitment to holistic care, he believes in tailoring his approach to benefit individuals across all age groups.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Dr. Jacob Boll embraces the diverse outdoor opportunities that Alaska has to offer. An avid hunter and fisherman, he relishes the chance to connect with nature and enjoy the beauty of his surroundings outside of the chiropractic clinic.
Dr. Mariah Hargrove joined Pairmore & Young Synergy Chiropractic in 2022, bringing a passion for healing and a commitment to making a difference. Originally from Canton, NC, she felt drawn to Anchorage and made the move in pursuit of new experiences.
Her journey into chiropractic care was sparked by her own positive experience as a patient. Suffering from persistent pain after a cheerleading accident, a chiropractor finally offered relief by identifying the root cause.
Mariah knew she’d found her calling during a preceptorship at the VA hospital, witnessing the transformative impact of chiropractic care on chronic pain. Her professional interests lie in helping those struggling with chronic pain and aiding the geriatric population in maintaining mobility and pain-free living as they age.
Outside the practice, Mariah finds joy in seasonal activities like skiing in the winter, paddle boarding, biking in the summer, and cherishing time with her two beloved dogs.
Dr. Aaron DeChant, a dedicated chiropractor, hails from northern Ohio, where his journey into chiropractic care began under the influence of his uncle, Dr. Paul Reed. Encouraged by his uncle, he pursued a doctorate in chiropractic at Logan University in Chesterfield, Missouri. During his time in the program, he not only honed his skills but also found love, as he met his future wife. The couple harbored a dream of living in Alaska, and when an opportunity arose, they seized it, relocating to the Last Frontier where they have happily resided for the past 5 years.
Dr. DeChant’s passion for chiropractic care ignited during his formative years. Having observed his uncle’s practice and appreciating the healing nature of the profession, he was drawn to its non-invasive approach, relying on neither surgery nor drugs for healing. Over the course of his 8-year career, he has found fulfillment in working with patients from diverse backgrounds and with various complaints, witnessing the positive impact of chiropractic care on their well-being.
Professionally, Dr. DeChant is well-versed in diverse chiropractic techniques, including Diversified, Activator, Cox flexion distraction, Atlas Orthogonal, and Sacral-occipital technique. He is an active member of the Alaska Chiropractic Society and the Knights of Columbus.
Outside the realm of chiropractic care, Dr. DeChant’s life revolves around his family. Married to his wonderful wife, Dixie, for over a decade, they share the joy of raising four beautiful daughters. He is deeply passionate about fitness and indulges his intellectual curiosity through avid reading. As a family, they embrace the outdoors, spending their time hiking and exploring the breathtaking landscapes of Alaska.
Dr. Ripley has been serving as an Associate Chiropractor since April 2024. Originally from the village of Leone/Vailoa in American Samoa, she pursued her education in the United States, starting at Rio Hondo Community College and later earning a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Hawaii, Hilo. After college, she moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where she worked as a Chiropractic Assistant at Pairmore and Young Synergy Chiropractic for four years. It was during this time that she was inspired by Dr. Pairmore and Dr. Young to pursue a career in chiropractic, leading her to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.
Dr. Ripley’s passion for chiropractic care stems from her desire to help others and the profound impact she has witnessed in patients’ lives. One of the pivotal moments in her career was when she saw Dr. Young assist a pregnant woman who was unable to walk upright due to severe low back pain. After receiving chiropractic care, the woman left the office walking upright and with significantly less pain. This experience solidified Dr. Ripley’s commitment to becoming a chiropractor, particularly to serve communities like her own in American Samoa, where there is a need for full-time chiropractic care.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Ripley is deeply involved in her faith and community service. She enjoys singing, watching sports, traveling, fishing, camping, and spending time with her family, friends, and dog. She is also passionate about sports, particularly rugby and basketball, and believes in the importance of chiropractic care for athletes. Dr. Ripley is dedicated to giving back to her community and making a positive difference in the lives of others.
